Should You See the New Movie Fame?

FAME- YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY SEE THIS MOVIE

Fame Review Written By Alanis

Fame has been around for 20+ years! Why see the new one? It's a NEW and UPDATED version of the movie. I recommend this movie for people 10 and older because of some of the scenes. The 1980 version of Fame was rated R! But the good thing is that they edited the movie to make it more age-appropiate for pre-teens and teens.

This movie is a musical about a school (that actually exists) in New York that is a performing arts high school and to get in you have to audition. Once you are in the Performing Arts School, you have a big chance of becoming a celebrity. This school was made to make you famous.

The teachers expect the students to know everything about dancing, singing, and basically being famous. Ms. Kraft likes Kevin but thinks Alice is better. I do not want to be a spoiler for this wonderful movie (remake of 1980 version) but the music is absolutely wonderful. I am really looking forward to when this comes on DVD and the music is out on album!

Talented Artists in Fame Hit the Theaters

The remake of the 80’s hit, Fame was outstanding! It showed the hard work and dedication of getting into such a serious performing arts school. The Director, Kevin Tancheroen, makes the school sound realistic with everyday problems and drama.
The movie is 107 minutes long and is rated PG. I rate this movie a 5 out of 5, it’s well directed and fascinating to watch through many different lives. It shows artists like dancers, who are very talented through their movements from classical to freestyle. There are many singers, from rap to Broadway that have great, astonishing voices. There are a few actors who go above and beyond in expression. And to complete the cast there is a potential film maker that makes the school a movie, whether they like it or not.

Book Reviews

                            Elementary Book Recommendation:

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs:
This very popular children’s book is the perfect recommendation for elementary students because the movie is coming out too. Even though the movie is supposed to mimic the book by making it a parody of The Day After Tomorrow, Twister, and other weather disaster movies. The book is about the little town of  Chewandswallow, and the food that falls out of the sky. This book is very cute and is highly recommended to lower grades.

Ages 10+ HALF-MINUTE HORRORS!
I reccommend this book for people ten and up. It has several short horror stories that are fun to read and time-consuming! If you're bored, I'd say this is the book to grab!

Middle School:  The Last Dragon Chronicles

The Fire Within, Icefire, Firestar, The Fire Eternal, Darkfire by Chris D’Lacey

These books are about a man named David Rain, who is an author in college, starts lounging in With the Pennykettle family, consisting of Elizabeth and and her 11 year old daughter, Lucy Pennykettle. Only to find out that the clay dragons around the house are real dragons made by Elizabeth. This series is action packed, and pointed towards the environment. This series is totally worth reading. The new book, Darkfire, is coming out in October.

Dracula

Who doesn’t like a creepy book about Transylvania? This vampire book, written by Bram Stoker in 1897, is an ageless classic. This Halloween-themed book is enough to send chills down your spine at times, but it’s a great thriller. This story is about a vampire named Dracula who has a girl he really likes. He has to choose to either let her go and never see her again, or turn her into a vampire so she’ll live forever, like him. What will he decide? Read the book to find out.
